Weather permitting the wedding will take place in the Memorial Gardens at Fort Edmonton Park. In the event of inclement weather the ceremony will be held at St. Michael’s Church, also at Fort Edmonton Park. Both locations can be found on the attractions map on the Fort Edmonton Park website. We are intent on having our wedding in the garden even if it is raining lightly or scorching hot. We advise you to dress for the weather and come prepared to be outdoors for at least a short while.
Seating at the ceremony will be available for those requiring it, but will be limited. If you are able to stand for the duration of the ceremony please leave the benches for those requiring them. Please dress for the weather and the venue, e.g., if it is raining consider leaving your spike heels at home or bringing them along in a bag for the reception and wearing something else for the ceremony.
A map with directions to Fort Edmonton Park can be found in your invitation as well as on the location page on the Fort Edmonton Park website. Once you arrive at the Fort please park in the main parking area and proceed to the main gate where you will be given directions to the wedding.
Your admission to Fort Edmonton Park will be covered as part of the wedding. Should you wish to spend the time between the conclusion of the ceremony and the start of the reception at Fort Edmonton Park there are many interesting things to see and do. We especially recommend the 1920’s midway, which you can find more information about here. Tickets for midway rides are not covered as part of the wedding/admission.
The reception will be held in Egge’s Barn at Fort Edmonton Park, at 6:30. Dinner will be served at 7:30 and a light midnight lunch will be served at… (that’s right, you guessed it!) midnight.
